High Concept Statement
Innovative healthy food program with a palate adventure where youth can discover, learn, and appreciate flavor profiles and cultures around the world
Status Quo
Statistics have shown food programs are critical to students’ health, and ensures that students have the nutrition they need throughout the day to learn. Food also fosters family connection and reminds us of our origin. However, there are not enough programs that offer positive eating with this type of food education
Competition
We are all leading busy lives and coming up with exciting and nutritious lunch ideas for the whole week is not always easy. Additionally, there are many initiatives to address a child’s nutritional needs that not all parents are aware of. Although there is a high concentration of food catering companies in the tri-state are (with a few large national players), the market is still fragmented in nature
Solution
Our mission is to serves fresh, nutritious, and flavorful global cuisine that will ignite a child’s palate. By eating seasonal and world cuisine menus, kids will not only learn about cultures, but also discover healthy eating that exceeds National School lunch program standards
Revenue Model
The mobile app will be the central platform for our start-up (77% of Americans owns smartphones, which could translate to higher penetration and retention rates). The app will have a friendly interface and back end infrastructure that will help to 1) place an order and track delivery with activity notifications, 2) track nutrition standards and provide educational sessions on food origin, 3) create artificial intelligence to derive insights on consumer preferences, and 4) trigger interest notifications on food preference. Primary revenue source will be food order, meeting National School Lunch Program requirements. Food offerings are global cuisines that consist of proteins, carbohydrates, and vegetables; along with standard go-to meals such as mac-cheese, pasta, and hamburgers. Potential secondary revenue source is a customer discovery platform created by the derived insights from the app for local food retailers, from super markets to restaurants
