Status Quo

There are many ongoing medical device developments and startups with no central resource to be informed of all options available to you as a patient. This app would be a means of getting the word out while also serving as a way to gain exposure as a medical technology startup.

 

Competition

Should someone need information on medical solutions that fit their needs, the only way to obtain it is to conduct Internet searches or contact the FDA, which can be tedious. There is currently a startup in California attempting to build a similar platform that focuses strictly on devices for surgical implantation. However, this app would go beyond that limited scope and serve as an information tool for both treatment and diagnostic technology.

 

Solution

According to a sample of medical startups, this idea would be beneficial because it would help promote new medtech developments before official market release. This would also be of particular interest to patients with poor health insurance plans as they could potentially discuss more economic treatments with their care providers.

 

Revenue Model

We would work as affiliates with all companies, products and solutions listed in the app by earning commission for every clickthrough to their website. In the future, we could implement a marketing or distribution model but we would first partner with a medical adviser for assistance with ethical and regulatory implications.
