High Concept Statement

Verblette combines Chatroulette and language exchange so that the users do not have to look for practice partners on their own.

 

Status Quo

Current language exchange apps have messenger-like interfaces, which means that the burden of finding the right partner is on the users. Verblette seeks to take that burden off the users’ shoulders through a matchmaking system.

 

Competition

HelloTalk and Tandem are two largest language exchange apps in the market today. They both offer messenger-like interface that is unhelpful to the process of talking to complete strangers from abroad. The only differentiation between the two apps is the fact that HelloTalk has more educational culture/atmosphere than Tandem, which is more social.

 

Solution

With Verblette, the users can start talking to a stranger from the other side of the globe just by pressing one button. No more going through hundreds of profiles, and no more failed conversations. The matchmaking system will use the data in users’ profiles to find the most compatible partner.
