High Concept Statement

this is on-demand tutoring meant for those last minute assignments for homework or projects for junior high and high school: task rabbit for tutors

Status Quo

It’s 8p.m. and you are struggling to help your 12 year old son with his 7th grade math homework.  You wish you could “phone a friend” and send him the problem set to get some help within the hour.  Although you’d love to get your kid a tutor, they are expensive and you have odd hours, so you’d never be able to drop him off and pick him up.  This product would help anyone who either has to figure out a problem for themselves or a child, but who can’t afford a more long-term source of help.

Competition

For those with disposable income and regular schedules, there are tutoring establishments that are very expensive and require the kids to be on-site at specific times.  For those with lower incomes, or variable schedules there is no current offering that exists. The existing apps are very expensive and focus more on college courses. This app is focused more on younger kids and their parents.

Solution

This product will be more affordable and tailored for younger students and parents who don’t have sufficient knowledge.  This offering allows for early intervention, since a subject like math continues to build, so gaining clarity earlier will have tremendous benefits versus waiting until things get worse in high school

Revenue Model

Parents will pay per hour, or have the option to pay per question (for those times when you are able to finish most of the assignment except for one question, or to go over an exam by question
